I only have a "Dumb Phone" (it is a cell phone, that is all, just a telephone).
For 100 grand, I would gladly smash the thing , tell Verizon to "fuggedaboutit", and have the landline re-installed, with a good answering machine.
Landlines have voicemail and called ID. Mine does. I guess you would have to buy a Smartphone though in order to give it up.
I recently spent a couple of days with a sibling and she seemed to have that phone on her 24/7 and used it at LEAST 4 or five times an hour to send texts. I don't know who she was texting so much seeing as she is retired. What really pissed me off was she would comment to us about the texts she received as if we 1) Cared and 2) Knew the context.
I was glad to see her leave.
I actually left my girlfriend in a restaurant. this is one of my oldest friends who stays glued to her phone. I mean sleeps with it, goes to the bathroom with it. has replaced a number of phones after dropping them in the shower with her.
Anyhoo, a few of us tried to go to dinner one friday night and the first 30 minutes "K" answered every text and every phone call. after all of us (3 other ladies) complained, I simply said K, it's obvious that you do not have the time to spend with us and I refuse to let you treat so dismissively so I'm out.
All 3 of us left her at the table. Now when we get together we all try to respect each other and leave the phones in our bags.
Some people use their cell phones as mini computers. I am using my IPhone to post in CD right now. So the idea would be if I were to give up phone in order to enter the contest, I would want to have an alternate for Internet access which I do.
In order to make things tougher, the rules should probably state all Internet access must be avoided. Now that’s a challenge!

Ok, I’m dying to know if you all made up or if that is the last you 3 have anything to do with her.
