The airlines should have kicked off the other two passengers as well as the male passenger who intervened and was aggressively calling her names. The aggression and anger from the other passengers was simply because the blond woman used the word "squished" to describe how she felt in her seat. A person saying they feel squished isn't abusing anyone, period.
In fairness, it wasn't that. They flipped out when she referred to them as "pigs".

It was an accurate thing to call them - not because of their looks, but because of their actions. They were hogging the room, and they were being selfish as hell when they bought the 2 seats with one in the middle that they obviously didn't give a damn who bought. If you read online comments, most people get who the bad guys were in this story, and it wasn't the blond lady - no matter how much this couple wants to make her the bad guy. This blond lady should never have found herself in this position, but for the selfishness of this couple, so I don't blame her for getting on her broomstick. This couple unfairly ended up with exactly what they wanted, a free seat between them.

No, watch the video again. They flipped out long before that. The nurse started flipping out when the woman was talking about being squished and she says "B-** please". Then proceeds to keep verbally berating the blond woman after she got up to move to another seat.
And this ignorance, my friends, is why we have these problems.
"If you want comfort, fly First Class." "People want cheap plane tickets." "Stop expecting to get what you don't pay for."
.... which ignorantly equates to "it's your fault if you're squished on an airplane."
Yes, there's First Class, but most people can't afford it. Do you have any idea what that really costs?
And excuse me, but airline seats are fine for the average person... those of us who know when to put down the knife and fork. We sit comfortably in those airline seats, but only when we don't have to share them.
"The obese are no more a threat than the elderly". That's a nice try, but all of us will become elderly at some point. That's just life. We won't become obese unless we invite that into our lives and decide to ...ahem... throw our weight around and put others in jeopardy.
Anyone over 300 pounds should take the train... take a car... or better yet, walk.
Yes true. Why should I have to pay for a high priced first class seat just because some porker spills over into my seat half crushing me. Fortunately I don’t fly that much but may in the future. Good times ahead, lol.

Would’ve been great if another passenger about 300 pounds wedges down into that seat.
I, too, have sat next to, or between, obese people. It happens. The lady should have just asked to switch seats without the "I eat salad" comment. She was a female dog for sure.
And forget about it, it will never happen. Airlines will never ask about a passenger's weight when purchasing a ticket, neither will they have people step on scales. I sure as hell wouldn't step on a scale to board a plane.
I’m sure you would. Too bad that would never happen. I’m a human being not a damn animal that needs to be weighed before boarding a cattle car.
I'd be fine with getting weighed before a flight especially if there was a safety issue involved. Doesn't bother me. I get weighed at the doctor's office anyway.
I got weighed to qualify for life insurance and they would likely have denied me if I had weighed too much. Would that be a bummer? Sure it would. But I would just focus on losing the weight.
