Though, we have a massive test shortage at this moment, so our numbers are going to run a little off.

Recall Michael Jackson...with his money he had everything medical in his home along with his private doctor.
The ultra rich will have their private doctors to take care of them and their home fully stocked with medical supplies.

And when their private doctor gets sick?

It would be nice if it did! And I think if it was used carefully it could safely end the bedbug resurgence.

You offer a large amount of money to another, and if they are all altruistic or otherwise occupied?

You offer a large amount of money to someone who had a medical license in another country, but can't practice here.

Or a nurse. Money buys you lots of options.

One thing I’m not quite grasping about this mess, is that they’ve already identified several existing medications that have proven extremely effective in blocking the viruses ability to reproduce and also blocking the inflammation that causes the lung damage. Specifically the medication used to treat malaria for years. I’m sure you’ve all heard that. OK, that particular medication unless taken an extremely high doses has been around for about 60 years and is one of the safest medications a person can take. In fact some people take it all the time for immune issues. So my question is why the heck are we not using this on a wide scale? It’s readily available, it’s not gonna kill anyone, it absolutely will save lives, it’s very cheap and can be produced quickly...and yet we’re sitting here waiting to hear more about it? there are three different medications to date that show extreme effectiveness against this virus and none of them are being used.

Also, in Australia where they had something like 20,000 volunteers willing to take a less viral and strain of this coronavirus and to study how their body developed immunity to it, it appears that when they were given this less severe strain, they did indeed develop immunity. most all participants didn’t become sick at all from this. Most only noticed a slight fever for a day or two. So why don’t we just do that with everyone? It would be like a vaccine.

I still maintain they know something or potentially something this virus could do but they’re not telling us.

They probably have doctors on retainer they can whisk into their safe houses on private jets, similar to Michael Jackson.

Confirmed cases are reported for the "county". Well there's lots of cities in the county but the state will not release the city name due to HIPPA.

Mayors are frustrated over this. They aren't asking for names, address or anything like that..just the city name.
If they know the virus is in their city they say they will take the next level of precaution for first responders/utility workers.
They have limited protective gear to dole out to workers.

HIPPA is federal so who knows if they will relax the guidelines so that city Mayor's are made aware of confirmed virus in their own city.

Preventing the spread is exactly why city officials like Conway City Administrator Adam Emrick want more information. Towns and cities across the county could take more action at a local level to protect their residents, he said, but they don’t want to take those measures until they have confirmed cases.

“We at the city have a number of steps we need to take, both to protect the citizens and the employees, and these steps might be somewhat extreme and disruptive to normal activities,” Emrick said. “We don’t want to implement them unless we have a need to do so.”

And Emrick isn’t asking for names, addresses, streets, or even neighborhoods (patients' medical information is protected under federal law).

“If they told us Conway area, that would help us,” he said. “If there’s a case in Little River, I don’t have to worry as much. If DHEC doesn’t give us this information, we’ll have to proceed as if every case is in the city of Conway.”
HIPPA has grown into a ridiculous behemoth..............

Great news. The number of tests is increasing in huge numbers every day. Once we know a person is positive, we can notify their asymptomatic contacts to isolate also. It will slow down the spread.

Testing numbers went up from 4-6k/day on 03/14 to 44k/day on 03/21.

COVID US Daily Testing Data : https://covidtracking.com/us-daily/

Date Tests
3/21/2020 44,068
3/20/2020 34,654
3/19/2020 27,372
3/18/2020 21,538
3/17/2020 13,243
3/16/2020 13,751
3/15/2020 7,174
3/14/2020 4,124
3/13/2020 6,699

3/7/2020 500
3/6/2020 926
3/5/2020 357
3/4/2020 969

We are testing at a higher rate than South Korea(20k/day) and most European nations. That's the good news. We are a bit behind, considering the size of the population.
