Well, apparently 90-95% dont keep the weight off... as shown in the link in my previous post.

I dont know what their "excuses" would be.

As i said, i'm not an expert.

Anyone who wants to believe all these people are lazy or dont care - do what ya gotta do. People ask questions, and they dont like the answers... sorry.

Good luck to those that are trying to lose weight, and also to keep it off.

The just plain old eat too much for what they burn off. Just because others fail doesn't mean you have to.

But:
Maintaining Substantial Weight Loss In Long Term Is Possible Say Researchers
"The average change at 10 years was an overall weight gain of 8.0 (plus or minus 0.3) kg, but the proportion of participants who maintained a weight loss of at least 10% of their initial body weight was estimated at 85.6%."

Well - those two study authors can talk to each other about it, since they say more or less the opposite when it comes to numbers.

More proof that you can find a study that says anything

Because the food is different. When I was a kid, beef was expensive. My mother would buy a 16 oz steak and feed the whole family with it. The way we raise meat is different and much cheaper now; cows are feed grains/corn instead of grass because it fattens them up much faster for far less money, and the very things that make the cow 40% fatter makes humans 40% fatter too. That combined with the fact that now we consider a 16 oz steak dinner for 1 person instead of 4 = tons of fat people. Check out "regular" chicken and compare it side by side to organic chicken. Perdue chickens look like freaks of nature, because that is what they are! Pumped full of crap to make their breasts huge... Guess what that crap does to humans?

Fat people in the 70s and earlier simply weren't as fat because the food wasn't as bad. Check out the poster art for the movie "Fatso" - a story about a guy so fat he was subject to ridicule. Today, that guy would be called "average."

95% of what is found in a typical supermarket today is poison in my eyes, and that is a big reason why I'm still fit at 40+.

Yeah it all depends on the pre-determined outcome desired by the entity funding 'the study'. Funny how the 'the study' ALWAYS proves what they wanted to prove. That is the main reason why I've learned to rely upon my own experience and gut level feelings rather than trusting 'some study' carried out by experts ( paid researchers ).
