were you regular before you (presumably) changed your diet? if you switched to low carb or keto that could slow things down, but if you were already on the sluggish side i would wonder about your thyroid.
my system was sluggish before, but my MD changed my meds and now i go twice a day 4-6 days a week. (glees!)
I know..a little tmi. But I feel alone in my problem.
How often do you poop?
It seems like the only time I do it is when I eat a lot of junk for several days in a row.
When I eat balanced and within my calorie allowance, I just don't go. I go a week without anything. It's uncomfortable and discouraging.
I drink water, coffee and eat salad almost every day and in the last few days I started taking fiber supplements.
Any tips would be geat.
Thanks.
Except for a few unpleasant ordeals forced on me by circumstances, whenever and as often as I feel the need. I'm very active, running and hiking every day and doing a lot of work on my yard and trees. That helps a lot.
Two successful days in a row - I cannot even remember the last time that happened....
I feel like a freakin' pharmacy with all the supplements I'm currently taking to address this issue, as well as my insomnia issue. I'm looking forward to slowly backing off some of them!
I read this whole thread. I was going to start a thread on this topic but found this one.

Do NOT let yourself go a week without pooping! I had 2 friends who died that way!!! Perforated bowels from too much....
Are you freaking serious? TWO friends died?

And warmer room temp water, NOT cold stuff.
Once you get more regulated, massage your belly now and then, gets things moving too.
And get some good fats, nice chunk of butter on that baked potato.
I've never heard of Vitamin C.
I'm in my late 30s, a man, and I rarely have eaten fast food in the last year, yet constipation is a serious problem.
I've been to the doc. He says I should take miralax. The expensive powder stuff at the store you mix in drinks.
The problem is, I go through like a half bottle of that expensive stuff and it just doesn't work for me.
Moreover, I have been eating more fruit lately...still can't get regular.
Milk of magnesia (or laxatives) are really the only thing that works for me.
Doc said it's better to take the miralax, but the milf of magnesia is an okay alternative.
I don't want to have to depend on anything...I'm a prepper and don't want to depend on anything but myself.
Plus the milk of magnesia doesn't produce "hard" stools, it's just nasty, like diarrhea. Gotta take a "bird bath" dang near every time I "go".

Do I have to go back to the doctor?
I'd go to a specialist if your insurance covers it. Just off the top of my head, there's a form of IBD that has constipation as a symptom. I'm sure there's other stuff too.
