I did lose 9lbs in one day, but wasn't very healthly way to do it as I almost died.

I lost 4 pounds in an hour once, it wasn't healthy either, salmonella poisoning!

To the OP, eat healthier, less calories and work out twice a day at least!

Myself since I started working at a harder physical job I started to eat more. I lost a lot of weight in the fall, but regained after xmas. Maybe it is a good thing as my girlfriend find me too skinny. I wish I could stay around the 120-125lbs mark though.

Default losing weight

I am a certified personal trainer with 500 hours of nutrition/fitness training....please do NOT cut yourself down to under 1200 calories a day! It is NOT healthy and all you will do is lose tons of water weight the first week and put your body in starvation mode which will SLOW your metabolism down! It depends on your lean body mass/ fat ratio as to how many cal. you should be getting per week, so its hard to say online without knowing anything about you. If you are a male, 1600 cal. would be the very lowest for you to keep your cal/day. You must do weight training to increase lean body mass, therefore uping your metabolism. Don't diet, just try to change bad habits. Make sure you eat breakfast, 5 small meals a day, exercise with high intensity (dosen't have to be 2 hours a day, can be 30 mins. of high intensity) and be consistant. Hope this helps...

ok 5 small meals for me be impossible. I work from 4am to 11am (sometime till 12pm) and then start another job at 4pm and get home at 9pm In mid day I am way too tired to eat, as I was working hard all morning since early morning, always on my feet. So I nap till my evening shift, after 9pm when I go home I usually get something to eat, Usually a big meal, to match my physical morning job needs. Though lately been gaining a some weight. Ok not just some I went from 114 to 130 in a few months, when last year i lost 10lbs with the same jobs. At least i am not 150 like i was after leaving High School. I felt a lot more comfortable when i was around 120. at 114 I sometime had dizzy spells, eventhough i was eating enough, for someone my size, but I guess not enough for to maintain my body during those heavy lifting physical job.

How do I find the right balance?

If you need to lose weight fast I have a not so healthy approach. I've been taking Hoodia diet pills and I lost 8lbs in 1 week. A healthy diet is obviously the best option, but if you need that jump start I would recommend the Hoodia. You're better off ordering it online at the Hoodia website though. I guess there is alot of immitation products on the market. Good Luck!

cut out sugar and flour products. Go on a low carb diet and you may lose it in a week. It took me 3 weeks to lose 10 lbs on such a diet, and I could eat anything I wanted that wasn't high carb. Now I eat few carbs. This is much like the Atkins Diet, but if you don't know what to do google low carb diet, and they will tell you what you can and can not eat.
