So you should be happy, and I'm happy that you're happy. But accelerating 35 lbs weight loss in 4.5 months is probably not going to make you happy, but fortunately it probably won't happen either. .

Wait, it apparently already has happened! From another thread

I need to recalculate again. You are on pace not for 84, not for 93, but for 108 lbs weight loss in one year, or 9 lbs a month.

This is such an incredible BS to generalize

Just because it may have worked for you or your friends, it doesn't mean it will work for others.

As I have stated multiple times, my metabolism does not, at all, work this way.

In past, I have reduced my calorie intake by more than 500 per day. Even by 750, but within 2 weeks, BMR has adjusted, and no it wasn't a 3-week plateau.

And I did that more than 6-8 times in past, combined with more activity and everything.

For me, the current starvation diet is the only solution, because even though my MBR has adjusted within few weeks after starting (as it always has), my calorie deficit was much larger.

Especially when you move a lot, across states, or neighborhoods, you change doctors a lot. You can quickly see how different their personal view is of certain conditions or treatments.

I would have to pay for at least 5 different ones to weed out their personal bias and school of thought. I am in much more acute need to pay for dentist than some dietitian.

And why on earth would I even want to do that ? I have succesfully lost over 50 pounds in last 6 months and over 100 hundred (in last few years) in total.

I am, perhaps, 10-20 pounds from my ideal weight.

And BTW, in past, actually, one of these -ehm- dietitians, suggested - to me- that I can lose weight by simply reducing my calorie intake by 500 calories (despite having told her that this does not work with my metabolism)

Paying $300 per consultation with dietitian may make sense for somebody who drinks 5 cans of soda each day, eats sh*tload of carbs and sweets and zero veggies and is constantly gaining weight.

Not my case by any stretch of imagination.

Yes, I was initially frustrated, as I said multiple times, that it took almost 5 months to lose that compared to just 18 days of juicing.

But, I accepted it and just rolled with it, so now I am happy with it

Today I was 218, so some time during previous week I crossed 220 (I was in plateau so I weigh once per week), so I did manage to lose 50 pounds in 6 months, so I am declaring success.

More new pants are falling off without the belt, so that helps with confirming the progress.

More of a six-pack is being revealed - right now I can clearly see the side edges of the six-pack, but there's obviously still some fluff on top of them.

My best guess right now is that I would completely see the 6-pack at 200, but that's kinda hard to predict. I don't think I wanna go below 200...

I'm now returning to 3 meals a day. Under 1,500 calories. Most definitely don't want to go more than 2 hours of hunger before meals and 6 hours of hunger per day total.

I'm now targeting next 10 pounds across 3-4 months. Will see.

Not a big deal if it takes more than 4 months to loose another 10 pounds. I'm getting more and more female attention with each week, so that helps with motivation

A neighbor returned from 4-month trip the other week and was asking "who am I" her other friend that I was talking to.
When she recognized my voice, the not-so-subtle OMG:WTF in her eyes was absolutely priceless

I received more female explicit attention in last 4 weeks than in previous 4 decades.

So much for the "it only matters how you are inside" BS Yeah, right

i started the oats diet last thursday. its not pure oats diet on weekends but it has been during the week. its effective, can see improvements already. its also a "starvation diet" and i have yet to actually be hungry. just a little bit when im going to bed but very manageable.

but its an incredibly boring diet. as much as i want the results, each day i question how strictly i will stick with it.

Without fasting, you only prolong your suffering. Fasting and Diet and Exercise are a chain that does not work at all if you do not have one of those in your program.
I have lost 60 Kg, I would have not been able to do it if I did not fast keep diet and exercise. That is the physical side of training but one must also have Will, Perseverance, and Effort in order to see results and that is a part of the psychical side.
Anyone can do it as long as they really want it, it all depends on how much they want to lose weight. It is all possible friends.

mix a scoop of protein powder in with your oatmeal. Ditch the bagel and make a large oatmeal with your favorite flavor powder. Make sure you get at least 80 grams of protein per day and/or 20-25 grams per meal. Otherwise keep doing what you're doing. Good work. You can also add weight training. I didn't read through all 9 pages to see if you do this, but pull ups, single leg bodyweight squats, holding planks until you collapse (I can now hold planks 4 minutes but the last 30 seconds are torture) .. holding planks that long works muscle groups you wouldn't even expect... building muscle increases base metabolism. You might not lose pounds on the scale but if your clothes fit more loosely and you look better, that's what matters.

I would also consider days where you don't have oatmeal and instead have 4-5 scrambled eggs maybe with your half bagel. Your breakfast may be a bit carb heavy. Insulin is the fat storage molecule. You should try to keep the glycemic load at any given meal low to moderate unless you are planning some prolonged cardio.

Also, drink 12-16 ounces of water 3-4 times a day preferably on an empty stomach 15 minutes or more before a meal.

You could try 16/8 intermittent fasting also. It's not entirely necessary though.

I'm a bit more social now so I get exposed to all kinds of bad food now.

But I do compensate right on the next day.

For example I consumed 1,200 excess unplanned calories yesterday.
As a compensation, I am doing 24 hour IF and will only have dinner later tonight, mostly salad, chicken meat and veggies.

I also walked 12 miles today, which in itself burnt around 1,200 calories.

I should have a deficit of about 2,400 calories between two skipped meals and the exercise.

It's a great way to keep the weight, just a bit uncomfortable.
