Favorites? Earlier I said we have small dogs now. We lost our chessie at 12 years old . The hubby has never been able to get a large dog since. Chessie's are definitely not for everyone. I swear the smart level is something I never expected. "Bogey" always loved riding in our "68 GTO.

Great Danes. When I was a young kid, my deceased mother bred little dogs. She had Scottish Terriers and Cocker Spaniels. I hated those barky, annoying things and never understood why she found them so fascinating. When I was 13, I volunteered in the summer at our city's SPCA shelter, taking care of the homeless animals and cleaning out the dog runs. While I was there, someone brought in two beautiful starving fawn Great Dane brothers. I fell in love immediately. I knew I could make them better. The staff told me I could have them with my mom's permission because of my service at the shelter. After all, we certainly had the setup to keep them.
I asked my mother if I could have the Danes. She told me no, they were too big, and my love for Danes was just a phase that I would outgrow. When I moved out of the house at age 15, I bought my first Dane, a blue female. I am now 38 years old and have two Danes, my 7th and 8th. This "phase" has lasted 25 years so far
Theres not many dogs I don't like, however I can't live without a Jack Russell terrier in my life. My old boy passed on last year a few weeks off his 15th birthday and we tried to live without a JRT in the house but failed miserably. We rescued/adopted our Lucy a month or so later, shes 9 years old and a shortie and life is good again.
To the other end of the spectrum I have a thing for Newfoundlands, have never owned a pure bred but have a Great Pyr/Newf mix who is a sweetheart. Shes very good at her job, which is looking after her family, despite having never been around young children for the first 18months or so of her life she did a stellar job making sure the grandees were just splashing around and not actually drowning at the lake last year and just yesterday she 'saved' the 2 year old from Granpa who was playing zombie games with the older boys.
I didn't post a picture. I don't know what I did there. I wish I had pictures of "Bogey" sitting in the GTO.
We didn't get a digital camera until after he passed.
My grandma had a poodle named Jake but before he died he'd often get crabby and my ex-pastor who lives in Minnesota has a black poodle. I also like Mini Eskimos and my uncle had one before he had to put her down because she was not able to move her body.
