i got dave a year ago this weekend..... he is a very lanky dog... long legged and lean..... and he was still shelter thin through the fall ..... as it started getting cooler last fall, i began to be concerned about him on walks over the winter.... so i started with a doggie t-shirt..... he HATED it.... just pouted and wasn't himself......

ssssooooo.... we just did our walks through the ice and snow and he was ok.... there were just a couple of days .... the first few in the lower teens, that he was too cold and we cut the walks short.... much to cold-weather-lovin', double-coated bailey's chagrin......

Cute pup - and t-shirt. Im not into dressing them up that much but I do like bandanas or scrunchies for them for the diff. holidays - Halloween, T'giving, Christmas, V-day, St P's day, Easter, patriotic, etc. They look festive and it usually brings a smile or chuckle to someone's face ;-)

I knitted a sweater for our Lhasa because she doesn't have much body fat and she gets cold. It isn't a fashion, dress-up doll thing, it's protection. We could let her hair grow longer, but its very fine and matts easily. Then we are both miserable. This way, she's warm, and doesn't have to be pulled on.
