I just hate seeing a dog dressed in clothes, or any other animal for that matter. I don't mind a bandanna, but that is as far as it go's for me.
But when I see sweaters, jackets, shorts and etc. on dogs, it just makes me sick. Oh, and when they have weddings for animals... Well, that is just wrong!
I just think, a lot of people are lacking something in their lives.
This is just the way I feel. To each his own.
How do you feel about this?
Hmmmm, my dog is a wimp about cold weather and/or rain. Moving from FL to IN this fall brought that home really hard. I had to put a coat on my dog to get her out the door. She was o.k. with the snow until it got 8" deep and the wind chill was -30. Then I had to get her some boots so she would step off the doormat.
I think that dogs who live indoors are not much different from people. I put on a coat when I go out in the cold, why is it such a stretch for people to think a dog who is acclimated to living in a climate controlled environment would feel the cold when going outdoors?
Personally I don't see the use in everyday clothes for dogs, but I also don't see the harm in it. If the dog is huddled in a corner begging someone to "get it off me" then I think that particular dog would rather not be dressed.
I personally have never seen a doggie wedding and I don't know anyone who has seen a doggie wedding.
Simon is the first dog that I have had that wears a coat in cold weather. It is really nice when he comes in from the snow or rain and he isn't drenched and freezing. As for other people and their pets, if the pets don't mind then it's okay with me.

I can see it making sense for health/safety reasons but not the usual t-shirts and the like that you see. Growing up we had small dogs and the older ones frequently wore sweaters. They definitely show a greater level of comfort and happiness when you help warm those old bones.
OK - dogs in cold weather protection gear is totally different than dogs in sundresses.
