Ron Paul...were he to amazingly become president of the USA come 2013.....would be 77 years old. He would be over 81 years old....if he finished his first term in office.

The tasking, trying job of POTUSA has aged young men into old men...before they finish there elected job of president. It's a fair question....would Paul be able to endure all the NEW stress of the giagantic demands on a POTUSA....which young men find so difficult to endure...as a US president?

He may be 77, but hes not walking around with a walker, crutches, in a wheelchair, isn't like John Conyers that speaks really slow, etc.

I don't think it is a problem at all if the doctors say he's healthy.

George Bush 41 went skydiving for his 85th birthday! It's all in the genes.

One very good thing about an older president, he would have incredible perspective about what is really important in life. That comes with age. And he'd be less likely to be beholding to corporate or special interests -- there would be no pretense of him enjoying any material benefits after his presidency. So there's that.

Paul is not my first choice, but if I were to make my "perfect candidate", he'd be closer to Paul's age than the others running. No question about that. Age is a plus (to a certain extent), IMO, for the leader of the free world.

I agree. Paul is at the end of his life, he has nothing to lose or gain by actually having a conscience. Plus, he grew up in an era where government was actually small, so he knows what works and what doesn't.

What? Don't be so pessimistic He could easily live another 25 years or more!

He probably eats the standard American Diet but if he switched to Raw Living Foods he might even look younger than he does now at the end of two terms. Look at this guy for example who was 58 in this picture. Do you think Romney or Perry could do this? They certainly don't look anywhere close to as young and healthy as this guy does yet they are the same age. This guy is 60 now and looks about 32.

Guess you haven't run across one of my many posts re Paul's advanced age...

He's too old to POTUS. Period.

I'm just asking the important questions.

He could live to be 100, but you avoided my question about the pressure and stress on a guy close to 80....with the rigorous schedule demands on the POTUSA?

Curious emily...how old are you?

I don't have any allusions that he would win, all I want is to have someone run who is not a hateful Neo-Con and present a argument against the system.

Is there an age limit for the job? Regan was no spring chicken and that didn't stop him form being elected. Besides, 77 is the new 50.

The job isn't nearly as stressful when you're not meddling in every aspect of American and Middle Eastern life.
