Romney held his own again and masterfully handled a balance between attacking Perry but still bringing up clear facts. His defense of Social Security over the Perry Ponzi Scheme rhetoric was actually very, very well done. I think he really helped to secure more senior Republican voters, a key constituency for the South Carolina primary, which in 2008 helped propel McCain to the top.
I agree, I thought that Romney did very well in the debate tonight. The fact that Perry didn't do so well was no surprise to this conservative Texan. I've seen many of his speeches before...lol.

As of now, Ron Paul is in first place in the MSNBC Poll and has 30% of the 5000+ votes and is 2% ahead of Romney. First Read - Who do you think won the Republican debate at the Reagan library?

Newt did well once again to stay on the radar. Generalized but blamed Obama and blamed the media for making republicans fight. Perry was exposed a bit.

agreed. I listened to msnbc on and off most of the day and they ridiculed the repubs frequently. Not a good way to attract viewers.

Good question, I thought the winner was the candidates and the loser MSNBC.

Odd moment after the debate, Matthews asked Santorum why he didn't discuss a specific issue, and Santorum responded that he wasn't asked the question.

Matthews said that wasn't an excuse.

The debate was lopsided, not in the candidate responses, but in the way the questions were heavily skewed towards Perry and Romney.

That's how I called it...

1. Ron Paul
2. Romney
3. Perry

I liked what Cain had to say on the 9% flat tax... Bachmann did better than I thought she would... Newt impressed me when he slammed the "Fed"... Huntsman and Santorum... Blah...
