Let me add that I was actually very interested in hearing more from Herman Cain.
I do think he was treated unfairly. But I'm not sure that he had enough experience to make it this far into the election.
Could he have held his own in a debate against President Obama?

how many of you Romney supporters already knew that you would be supporting any white candidate that ran against President Obama? This is a fair question, because many of us believe you are more interested in removing President Obama because of his race than you are interested in getting behind a candidate who can do a good job.
I planned on supporting any white candidate, any purple candidate, any orange candidate, or any (fill in the blank) candidate that I thought could beat Obama. So I decided during the primaries to vote for whoever the republicans threw out there. It has nothing to do with race. NOTHING. Now my vote in '08 was based on race, I voted for Obama because of his race and suffered buyer's remorse within 6 months.

Once again, I will ask, how many of you did not like Romney until he clearly became the only candidate who could beat the President who happens to be black?
Me, but I started liking him a whole bunch more after the first debate.

For the moderators... We know there are people who will vote for President Obama because of his race. We know there are others who will vote for Romney because of his race. Let's have an honest discussion about this. If you are voting for Romney because he is white, you must believe that this is the right thing to do. Let's hear from you.
Actually I was for Herman Cain and would prefer him over Romney or Obama.

mud....meet wall....now please something stick....
and over and over and over again, AND over and over and over and over. Didn't the president graduate from Harvard? Isn't the president black? So what is your problem? The problem is blacks will always scream racism and demand special privileges because of their skin color, because you feel you can't do anything without special treatment. If you are sick of it get used to it, complaining about their skin color will be around the end of time. Nothing new here folks.

Throw it against the wall? Obama said throw it against the refrigerator and see if it sticks.

Thanks for the reply. I was interested in what Herman Cain had to say until he withdrew. I would not have voted for him, but I found him to be a very interesting player in the race. What was it about him that made him your choice?

I am going to stand by my opinion that people not voting for President Obama are doing so because of at least some minimal racial issues. Herman Cain supporters can prove me wrong if they can convince me that he had a plan. I need to know that at least some of you Republicans were willing to vote for an African-American. This is your chance to convince me.

I voted for an African-American in '08. Can't think of any stronger proof than that.

Polls indicate that more white people as a percentage will be voting for a republican than any other time in history. If it is not because Obama is black, please offer another explanation.

That's all they have left so they are going to play it to the end. They think that it worked in 2008 so why not do it again. Obama is as much white as he is black so why don't we call him a white man?
