The gov't just can't say "it's delayed" there is a process that has to be approved by all 50 states.

Obama could use an executive order, however that would be very unpopular and Obama making the call himself to delay the election would hurt his chances of winning.

While that would be something directed...I bet "THEY" do as they wish like they have for the past 4 years....watch and see. Too many of the "getto/handout" votes at stake in the areas effected....now did ANY of TPTB complain when that plane going down in theater of operation with the ballots for those serving in uniform last week complain???? I did not hear ANY concerns...if someone has proof that they were concerned about those serving in harms way might not get their ballots in time to get back and be counted...PLEASE SHARE!!!!!

Not sure southern end of Manhattan is where the "getto/handout" votes would be coming from.
Not sure what you are on about with the plane crash that happened to have the votes from the military, What would be the point of complaining about an airplane crash.
As for delaying the vote for a short time to make provisions for every one to vote? if your vote was not going to happen because of some storm related problem would you want a minor postponement so you could vote?

Will not be postponed. Obama doesn't have a leg to stand on to make a case if power is restored by Election Day and there will be no bipartisan support for such a decree.

The country had several days of early voting before the storm. No way in h*ll there will be any delay. It didn't happen during wartime and it won't happen now.

I call they will "delay" the elections because of the storm and it's impact.
The executive branch has no say when election are to be carried on the federal level.

If Obama put out a free phone at the voting booth there would be no problem what so ever for the losers of American getting out to vote.

They won't leave for evac, but they won't stay inside on order either. I am sure they will whine unless they get something to go vote.
