The fact that Trump, with all his baggage and bombast was this close to Hillary shouldn't be a cause of concern as opposed to a sign that a socially moderate republican would have likely beaten Hillary.

The only hard look the repubs have to take is at their own selection process and deciding whether stupid crap like opposing gay marriage is worth it.
I think you are totally wrong on social issues causing the problem.

The fact is, if blacks and Hispanics voted their own social perspective, they would vote for social conservatives. period. they don't. They vote left because they are left. They believe that government is the answer. There really are very few people like you. We hear it. We hear that there are these social lib/fiscal conservaitive people but at the end of the day they vote liberal fiscal policy time and time again.

social issues are just a boondoggle and mean absolutely nothing.

The women that say they vote democrat because of the abortion issue are not being honest. They are voting for government intervention. period. They are voting their interest. They believe government is a necessary and appreciated intrusion in their lives.

Donald Trump IS a social moderate. He has defended government spending giving money to Planned Parenthood.

Trump on every issue is left of most of the republican party. shoot, his immigration stand is EXACTLY the same as the democrat party from the 70s. you couldn't slide a dime between his view and that of Caesar Chavez the noted socialist and union activist.

It's probably more accurate to say that (the vast majority of ) African American and Latino vote a certain way because they don't feel very welcome in the Republican party with its appeals to racial wedge issues. That's a real turn off.

That's carp. They don't "feel" because PROGs have perpetuated the lie that republicans hate them. That is a lie but it doesn't matter. perception if reality.
It is not a racial wedge issue to want those coming here to do so legally. It is not a wedge issue to want those here illegally to go home. Nowhere in that is there a racial component. The same voices saying we need to control our boarders, are saying we need to make it easier to get here legally.

there is no point. you guys won. have fun destroying the nation.

We'll be Germany, but a few years behind.

A woman that will bring us to the brink of disaster, thanks to big government, open borders and a global-government mindset. Then the pendulum will swing the other way, when those policies turn out to be horrible. Already happening in Europe.

As for Goodbye to the GOP---no great loss. No great loss if it was Goodbye to the dems, also.

ETA: Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen---and there is no charge to attend? If so, that explains it.
Agreed! Hope fully both parties will go down in flames soon. And something representative of the middle class will rise up.

I do also. This election is too close to call in many swing states with many independents, yet some people are prematurely writing Trump's epitaph. I anticipate he will win and it will be a long, sad night for the Democrats.
