The current platform of "we're going to raise taxes" and "we care more about illegal aliens, even brutal murderers than American citizens" doesn't seem to be catching on. Many people who like the idea of Medicare for all either don't know the cost or won't be paying for it. Studies of Bernie Sanders plan estimate costs at between 25 and 32 trillion over 10 years, and loss of about two million jobs.
If they returned to being the party of Harry Truman and JFK, more of us independents would vote for them. But as of now, they are headed full steam in the other direction.
When the left says Medicare for all they are referring to illegal immigrants, not Americans.
