When people sell something on Ebay , they say I SOLD it on Ebay, and then they usually give you an idea of how much they got for it. I know this from being an Ebay seller. If someone says they PUT it on Ebay it means either the auction isn't over yet or it didn't sell or they never got their reserve amount met. I think this might be a misunderstanding between people who are very familiar with Ebay and those who are not so much. I'm sure there is no vindictiveness, malice or envy involved.
