Well I'm not impressed. So far the only rebuttal I've heard about her performance was, to paraphrase, "at least she doesn't stutter" "she is good at skirting questions" and "she was only given 2 weeks of training."
The scariest part to me was her repeated 'you can't blink' - she used it when he asked if she even paused when McCain asked her, she used it when asked about foreign policy. What sane person would not at least think for a second about being offered the VP of the United States and the awesome responsibility it entails?
I love it. The catty, b*tchy attacks continue. No lessons learned over the last two weeks. The one that's gonna be delivered by the thousands of moderate, undecided women in 8 weeks though is the one which is gonna sting the most. Keep it up angry kitties, the McCain campaign can't buy this kind of publicity.
She neither stumbled or bumbled. She did skirt the questions, but everyone does that. I'd like to hear direct answers, but if she did that I'd worry she wasn't ready to be VP. Since she has that down, she's ready.
If you want to watch a stumbling and bumbling candidate, just catch Mr. Obama without a script ......... "but, but, but, but, but...." , "no, no, no, no, no....." and so on.
Somehow I doubt Ms Palin is in need of your sympathy. The voters have not seen tonight that she's not ready to be a VP.
How do you figure that?
I feel sorry for all you Liberals. It has got to be so painful to realize how close you came. It has to be tough to know that if only Barack had picked Hillary, Sarah Palin would still just be the Governor of Alaska. It has to hurt terribly to see Barack finally learning how it feels to see people's backs.
America is looking for change. Barack said it so it must be so. But then they saw he's really not offering change at all, just same old/same old. Then along comes Sarah Palin, a down to earth, self assured, common sense/no nonsence kind of lady. And she's got everyone hopping, spinning and twirling.
It's such fun to watch.
Excellent post! I agree that she did sort of skirt the issues, but I read that as her trying to answer questions while remaining politically correct and not trying to offend anyone. And I think you can't please everyone, and you are going to offend some of the people some of the time, and you just have to lay it out there, whatever you really think, and then let them decide. I think she sort of felt like she was walking a tightrope, trying not to say the wrong thing. I think as she gets more comfortable interviewing she'll get better at saying what she means.
Just because she isn't a Washington politician doesn't mean she's not exactly what America needs.
And McCain is doing great right now with his interview!
I think what really matters most to people who admire Palin is that she's hot the 3 G's pretty well covered. In other words, she's pro God, pro Gun and anti-Gay. These 3 issues are what really matter to the people who love her. Other issues like foreign policy, the Iraq War, the economy, and climate change take a back seat with Palin admirers.
