Gun sales are booming and the media says it's the economy but I think it may be people are worried they won't be able to buy one if Obama is elected and he and a Democrat Congress change the gun laws, so they are buying them now while they still can. I know I've been thinking about it --- that and surgery that isn't to correct a life threatening illness. I figure I'm going to need cataract surgery within the next two years so maybe I better have it done before Inauguration Day.

Here's an article that says it's tied to the economy not Obama. Still...

As economy sours, gun sales boom : News-Record.com : Greensboro, North Carolina

I'd say both. I know I'm stocking up on ammo and components myself. He's the most anti-gun left wing politician in America. I know he'll be trying to confiscate as many guns as possible if elected. Don't say it can't happen here it already has in California and New Orleans. He says he'll re-enact the "assault weapons" ban which even Clinton admitted did nothing to stop crime. He has voted to ban all semi-auto weapons, he wrote a bill banning any store selling guns with a 5 mile radius of any park or school. Look at a map, find a school and or park and draw a 5 mile circle around it. This would ban almost every gun store in the country. But he now says he supports The Second Amendment. RIGHT! He's a nightmare.

That's a good point. If things get bad, we might have to defend our homes from desperate people and if BO is elected, you know dang well he'll put restrictions on guns (partly out of paranoia for his own preservation). Maybe I should look into getting a rifle. My hands are getting two weak to properly operate my pistol.

As a gun owner, I can say you guys are completely retarded. The political will does not exist to do any drastic anti-gun legislation, even if the dems pick up 5 or 6 seats in the senate.

The twin pillars of the Republican party are ignorance and fear, both of which have been whipped into a frenzy at the thought of Obama as President.

And it dont take much to make the right wingers make a mad dash for their nearest gun store.

Dictators usually get rid of the guns of the people because they don't want the people fighting back on the dictator.

Only a dictator would remove the right to bear arms.

As a gun owner, I can say you are completely wrong. The Dems have repeatedly tried to shove through anti-gun type legislation for years and years. Nobody has to take my word for it...it's public record...

if guns sales are up then '08ama has already improved the economy and he hasn't even been elected yet. He's on the right course.
