this city requires guns
25 years murder-free in 'Gun Town USA'
I will explain how statistics can be deceiving. Take NY, for example: go to the gun crimes statistics from NY, and add the total number of gun-related crimes committed in one year (pick the year). If you do so, you will realize that this number is incredibly high. However, the statistics above are "per capita." It means that a city of under 100,000 inhabitants can be perceived as having a lot more crimes than in NY.

A lot of police statistics have a legend explaining how "statistics" can be deceiving. It's on the legend.

it is impossable to debate when someone does not come up with a good response, nor look at the data provided within the arguement. You have not given any facts to backup your statement as well. Not worth my time.
Apparently you think that change is going to happen quickly. It doesnt work that way. It can take years for change to take place, and it did.

And the numbers of violent gun crimes went down, furthermore, a majority of D.C. residents SUPPORTED the handgun ban.

A conservative leaning Supreme Court ruled ......commence firing!

Silly fool, do you REALLY think it matters to the inhabitants of DC? They're one step behind Bloodymore wiping each other out. Democrats love to kill their own.

You have zero idea what the hell you're talking about. DC residents were adamently against guns being sold in the District. They still are. The rest of your nonsense about Dems in the district isn't worthy of response.

What amazes me is how people have their knickers in a knot about giving the District guns when the reality is that is the last place they need to be sold due to the safety issue of those that run the country - to say nothing of the citizens. Entire blocks of DC are blocked off and guarded by armed military guards due to safety concerns but by god the District needs their guns. Bah.

Ya do realize that VA and MD are just right over the border to buy guns in, right? It's really easy to get across too. You just gotta cross one of the little bridges, go over the Potomac and tada, VA. Or better yet, go north through the city and again, tada, MD.

Gun sales are soaring because people are afraid crime will rise if McCain is elected, those of us who own property will be in fear, and McSame will be making us bail everyone out of their bad mortgage deals.

The violent crime in Canada and most countries in Europe does not even come close to being as bad as the USA. Why? Gun laws that make sense.
Obama is going to come after the guns of the thugs and drug dealers, not after Joe Hunter, ok?
Wake up cons, freaking eh.
Gun crime is UP in the UK. What's up with that, eh?

odanny;5627800]How many mass murderers were not fond of guns? How many were? How many owned huge arsenals of weapons before they committed their heinous crimes? How many had an infatuation with assault weapons? How many had violent tendencies that showed themselves before they killed others with guns?

Now contrast these people with those who are in favor of gun control and legislation.

What did you come up with?

I rest my case.
Thank you. It's about time it got put to rest.

Putting a gun in the hand of a normal person doesn't make them go out and kill people.
Vermont is a big time rural state with nothing that really resembles a major city in it. Swimming in guns? It has to be for hunting purposes. Dems and Obama are not going to restrict use for that.
