The key word in that sentence is "next". What about in? The kids are IN the school and that is what matters. If security is sitting outside and a student has a gun inside what can they do other than be late?

Would the secret service have to set up metal detectors for whatever school these girls will be attending? I would have to say yes, maybe?

Maybe. Can the SS just set up metal detectors in public schools? Is that a part of public school policy?

They have metal detectors at schools now and weapons get in....just like airports, court rooms etc. It's easier to control the environment than the students and the smaller the school (physically and by student population) the easier it is to control both.

Once again, "do as I say, not as I do".
Yes, DC, one of the top 20 most crime ridden cities in the U.S. When he has to triple the security team for the girls to attend public school (where the sheer number make it much harder to control), you will argue about how much he is costing us taxpayers. If one of the children gets hurt at the school, you will argue why he was so stupid to not ensure the utmost security for his kids. He couldn't win. If you had small children that will likely experience more publicity than any children in US history (as the kids of the 1st African American president) you would want to control how much access the public and the reporters/paparazzi and general crazy people had to them. That means you would be looking at private schools or even home schooling and you know it. God knows it. Too bad you can't admit the truth to yourself.

You don't agree with anythng that Obama says so you don't agree we need a better economy, more jobs, an end to the war, better health care, better education,.....really weird !!!
I agree with a better economy, but we have to work for it, it shouldn't be handed to us....right now I see A LOT of people that think if they work 25 hours a week, they deserve a house, a nice car, healthcare, money to shop etc....I see A LOT of lazy people.

I think we should end the War when the time is right. You don't go to a country and tear it apart and then decide to leave because the American people are worried about the economy. People over there have made REAL sacrifice, not giving up dinner out one night for gas money. They do not deserve to be left in this manner (whether you were for the war or not, it is what it is now). The military on the gound in Iraq will let us know when the time will be.

What exactly is better healthcare to you? If you idea is socialized medicine, then NO I don't want your/his better healthcare. I want doctors to be doctors because they have a passion for it. I want the doctors to be able to make an extreme amount of money and compete with each other to develop the latest science. What I don't want is a bunch of doctors that are gov. employees and are not excited about what they do, who they see, what they practice. I don't want to wait in line for a surgery for months on time only to get an average doctor.

Education is very important. I think we currently have a good system in place. It could always be better!
