Watching Putin's speech, I thought he was getting cold feet and would allow NATO to stroll through. Guess I was wrong. Good for them.

I tried to explain to you that his yesterday's speech sounded very ominous, but I didn't expect things to move so fast.

Those Nazi boyz with tattooed arses used to feel soooo invincible.

Erasure, do you think that a quick and decisive success of the Russian military operation may lead to popular revolt and the removal of Zelensky??

Wait, I am so flabbergasted by the speed of event, that I can't even think straight.

I can't exactly understand what Russians are aiming at now?
Just rockets or troops on the ground too?
Is it just Donetsk/Lugansk regions or Kiev and Kharkov too?

What about Mariupol?

I don't understand the scope of this operation.

Once I will, I'll have a better idea what this is all about.

Oh wait...

I see CNN is reporting that Russian troops just landed in Odessa...
If true, then it's a bigger operation than I guessed...

I have quite few live channels open and trying to read frantically

My understanding is that the operation will aim to secure Donbass, no invasion of Ukraine is planned, something Putin said clearly.

However air strikes are hitting deep into Ukraine territory to disable command and control centers and probably to destroy aviation and various hardware.

My guess that this is some sort of Georgia 2008 redux on a larger scale, secure the separatist areas and destroy the war making capability of the opponent. The aim obviously is to trigger regime change through popular revolt.

A no fly, no military hardware buffer zone along the two republics border are logical to me...first one that get in with bad intention get zapped.

Yes, however Odessa may be just a clean up operation to clean up Azov elements & Co

I wish them all successful liberation from the Nazi.
Some people were waiting for it for long time, some are dead, some were forced to leave.

But I'll remind what it was when the occupational troops of Kiev entered Mariupol seven years ago; things that ABC-CBS-BBC and the rest of the "free Western media" never talked about;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymXrcxCP9mA

This is that "peace and democracy" that Nuland et al brought to the South-East of Ukraine;

( The guy says in the beginning "The police was with people - these soldiers ( Ukrainians) killed them.)

"People are blocking the tanks/bmps with their own bodies."

Then - "You still think these are blank cartridges they are shooting with?
Yeah right, have you seen how many dead people are on the streets?"

And then of course a lot of curses and expletives towards the "liberating Ukrainian troops."
But most of all you hear the word "Fascists."

Which is the whole point.

But seven years later...

I just don't know what's the mood there after initial Putin's betrayal.
Because they were waiting for help back then.

So... going back to this question..
There will be no need for the "popular revolt."
Putin said in his speech that this government needs to be removed from what I understand..
Nazi have to go.

What it's going to be replaced with, ( and how) we don't know yet.
But yes, he said that Russia is not interested in occupying Ukraine.
