Perhaps the mass production will be restored. But this will depend on the budget possibilities.

You asked this on another thread. No, Soros wasn't involved with the economy. He was kind of obsessed with manipulating politics in E European countries, as they transitioned through the 80's into and through the 90's. In the case of Ukraine, he picked the wrong candidate to back, and it became a huge scandal.

But he also had other non-political projects. One Soros Fdn project I ran into was an effort to "teach" the principal museums in Russia how to do membership drives, sell memberships, and do other types of fund-raising from the public. Of course, this was ludicrous in a country with a collapsed economy, as it was in the 90's. The one thing that actually worked a bit was soliciting sponsorships from businesses. They were able to convince businesses that it was prestigious to sponsor a museum. The whole idea of sponsorship actually was kind of a popular new thing after 1991.
