The fact that you believe Russia has only interfered in a small number of nations is laughable. In case you missed it, Russia didn’t get sanctioned for interference, but for its annexation of Crimea.
What are all those countries the US has interfered in? I’m talking about real interference, not claims made by those nations without backing them up. There have been a few over the years, but that’s about it.
There’s no need to use revisionist history to try and put down your country.
There are 3 sets of sanctions on Russia and people within Russia right now. 1 is for Crimea, 1 is for Donetsk and 1 is for election interference. The biggest set of sanctions - by a lot - are for Donetsk.
He's plotting his response, as his country follows his orders. He will either boycott, or send them as neutrals but pull some stunts with that. Ironically, he spent the last winter olympics plotting his response to the Ukrainian revolution. Like 4 years ago, he has to get everything in order for the coordinated response. If he boycotts, he has to align his propaganda to by anti Olympics (some Russian twitter bots are doing this already). If he goes as neutrals, it will be a combination of overcoming western attempts to hold Russia back with Russian perseverance against unfair persecution for cheating. I'm not sure how they will handle the ceremonies planned to give medals to the people who moved up in the rankings after Russians vacating medals for doping. Ignore them? Or claim its all political.
