Still clinging to 5 years old propaganda? Ukraine's land need to be privatized already, as it is a source of corruption. I see, Russians blame America for other Russians stealing all of their country's money.
It would be difficult to steal, without having a place where to stash the stolen goodies, wouldn't you agree?

Fortunately this actor sees right through it and agrees Ukraine's farms will be better off privatized (oh those evil corporations).
The "actor" sees that his hands are tied, and he will HAVE to follow IMF orders.
Quote:
No matter how you cut it, the profit motive allocates resources more efficiently than state gosplans.
The "profit motive" makes stealing much more effective than any "state gosplan" as well))))
From what I have been reading there's not a lot of hope for Ukraine. The cancer of corruption has been eating the country for so long there's just not a lot that can be done for decades. I know a guy from Ukraine who has childhood friends who have simply given up on their futures, even their lives.
No candidate is interested in solving the Donbas problem. No candidate seems interested in repairing the ties with Russia. They all seems to be part of a group which they cannot begin to hope to compete with. The gas contracts end this year, there are legal obstacles to signing new ones with Gazprom and there is little other reason to. Russia has no good reason to be charitable other than humanitarian. For Russia to help would simply be to give your enemy a gun to shoot you with.
It's possible you are right. There are a lot of powerful interests entrenched who want to keep things the same. They don't care about the masses and why would they. They are all about making money with political connections. I see Ukraine turning out more like Bulgaria than Poland.

The difference between Poland and Bulgaria to begin with, is that Poland is part of the Visegrad 4 group of the countries, whose economy was directly attached to Germany. And that's where their "economic miracle" is coming from.
The rest ( Bulgaria including) have been plundered mercilessly and are barely surviving.
It's the total opposite in Seattle. Concrete canyons with litle or no open spaces for the people. Cheap modern art usually made of cement. Even at Christmas time the city puts up the lights and they are all the cheap white lamps. No colored lights or very few and far between. My city of Auburn is largely going the same way.
