Yesterday there was a little documentary on the university of Coimbra (founded in the 13th century, one of the oldest universities still in operation) on TV. Incredible how much money and effort they invested in the library back then:

The Douro river valley, where they grow the famous wine and other stuff on terraces along the slopes.

It looks more impressive when you are on a boat and look up the slopes, almost like somewhere in South Asia
