Anyway, this is not a music thread. So, what else is there to write about...

- there has been a serious drought, although it has been raining for days now. But many reservoirs are still very low, it would take months of rain to fill them again
- lots of cases of domestic and other violence, with wives being killed and stoned/drunk young people beating each other to death
- tourism is booming, the economy in general as well; there are many advanced job vacancies that can't be filled due to the lack of qualified applicants, for instance in IT, engineering etc.
- the unemployment rate is below 8 %
- the country is gradually getting rid of its trash rating with big rating agencies

There are Portuguese people that don't like Fado but I've never heard of a Portuguese person describe it as depressing that is the interpretation from some people who aren't familiar with Fado. I don't think most people raised in the culture could ever fully grasp it totally. I would describe Fado as deep soulful longing not depression. A bit of pain feels good within moderation.
