Mostly I ski. I put on 20,000 to 30,000 vertical feet about 5 days/week - mostly through moguls and tree runs. It definitely gets the ticker pumping fast.
Legs and core as well......arms, I; bet as well.....
I exercise six days a week. Three days I do a Body Pump class for strengthening and some aerobics (elliptical, treadmill). Other days: stair step and elliptical. I always make sure that my treadmill walking is at an incline around 9 or 10.

The Les Mills Pump has been something I've been doing for 2-3 yrs and it has worked wonders for me (mid 50 yo).....really leave feeling like I've gotten my money's worth --
I'm a male who will be 60 in a few months. What do most people my age do for fitness routine. I enjoy pilates, zumba, and workouts - but it seems that most people in fitness classes are 20 something Ashleys and Britney-) I was able to do triathlons earlier in the decade but find I don't have the stamina these days. I want to stay as healthy as possible in my 60s. Any suggestions - IMHO it seems that many 60 year old men start have healthy problems.
The 60+ year olds at my gym run, use elliptical equipment for cardio and lift weights, just like the 20+ year olds.
Classes are for women. Nothing at all wrong with that, but guys just don't seem to do classes.

I don't like classes. I've never set foot in a gym, always exercised at home starting with videos, then DVDs and now most workouts are streaming. I've kept my DVDs because I don't want to pay for workouts. I have several sets of dumbbells and a pull up bar in a doorway. That is all anyone needs. I also like to walk for a couple of miles to do errands, depending on the weather.
I take Water Fitness Class 2X week
I take Deep Water Running Class 2X a week
I take Ice Skating Lessons on Sunday; and go for a practice skate on Thursdays.
I walk 2.5 miles everyday around a small lake 5 mins from my house. (If it wasn't so close I doubt if I would be as committed)
I'm 60 and I feel good now that I am more active and losing weight. Last year I could barely walk 1/4 mile because I had Bursitis hip pain, pain in my knees. Taking care of myself is no longer optional.

I'm really interested in the water fitness classes. I've been swimming more lately, and the pool had a waterPilates class that I was going to try but all the particpants were overwt older women and I would have been the only man ---I'm in pretty good shape....really would have felt out of place.....I already do all kinds of land fitness where I'm the only man (20+ women). I might try a more intense water class next week where I know the instructor who teaches the land classes......
