Skinny jeans work for those who weigh around 110 lbs. or less. I used to, but I don't anymore & never will again.
I have always liked boot cut & have always worn them. Flares are great, too. Hell, I'm ready for 60's bellbottoms to come back, & if I live long enough, I know they will.
I love to wear my boot cut jeans, I've tried skinny jeans and a) I'm too old for them and b) my ass is way too big so IMO they look stupid.
I do have straight jeans to wear with boots but they make my feet look huge when I wear them with flats.
I get strange looks when I'm out and about (Oxford Street in London was a hoot, I stood out like a sore thumb) and the lady I housekeep for seems to think skinnys are the way to go (shes a size 2 I'm a 12)
How many others are devoted to their boot cut jeans ?
I actually stopped wearing them for awhile all together but I'm willing to bring them back into play. But I do think certain cuts of jeans look better with certain types of shoes.
And as for me, I just have big feet, so I own it. There's no hiding them! Being tall = big feet.
Are people really giving you strange looks for wearing boot cut jeans? Are you sure they aren't giving you strange looks for something else?
I don't like boot cut jeans at all and unfortunately, it seems that boot cuts have been a disproportionate amount of the jeans manufactured for at least the last 10 years. I rarely wear boots and when I do, they are ankle length hiking boots that don't need boot cuts anyway. Also, I am very short and boot cuts look ridiculous on me; like I'm wearing waders to run errands. I look best in regular cut regular waisted jeans. The low waisted jeans that were made forever look terrible on us because women are not built like men and trying to shove our curvy behinds in a cramped, low space does not work. And it worked for me even less than most because I am especially blessed in that area

I wear both boot cut and straight leg. Since I'm 5'1 I have a hard time finding jeans that fit perfect, so I wear what ever I find that looks and feels good. I don't care what others think.
The heck with what's fashionable. I wear the boot cut jeans. I really think they look better on me than straight leg. With the straight leg jeans I feel like I'm all feet and my feet are fairly small so I think it's just my perception.
I'm also short and short waisted so finding jeans or any pants that fit without coming up to my rib cage is a minor miracle. I have to buy the ones that say they come up to the hip which on me means they come almost to my waistline which is very comfortable for me to wear.

I'm 5'10" & I was thinking all skinny jeans were made for shorter women! I guess everybody has a hard time with them?
Skinny jeans NEVER reach my feet. Or even my ankles. They are not short enough for me to even resign myself to a "capri" look either.
They land somewhere inbetween & awkward looking. And they are SO tight around my thick thighs. My thighs are always thick, no matter how much weight I lose.
Once my legs started going numb when I was driving even though I had a gap at the waist!
I know beauty isn't always comfy but that was just ridiculous.
I love bootcut jeans and rarely wear them with boots. I have really been pleased with several of the new offerings from Lee. (I do go for their curvy fit.)
