Home made pizza with a ready made whole wheat crust. Doing some research on the toppings if I can convince the wife to try it.

One of the beauties of home made pizza is that you can top it with almost anything from the traditional cheeses, meats and sauces to some very exotic and creative toppings. How about grilled chicken, spinach, roasted red peppers, thin slices of red onion and mozarella cheese?

Being we love okra cooked with tomatoes and onions I'm going to make one with fried okra and chopped onions and tomato sauce topped with lots of cheese. Yes I know it's weird but sound good to me. And no I'm not PG. The second on is going to have fresh spinach and extra cheese. Normally one would have some pulled BBQ pork on it. You don't know if you don't try.

Whoa ... a pulled pork pizza. Never thought of that. Barbeque sauce instead of tomato sauce. Hmmmm ... you'd need a very light flavored cheese so as not to steal the flavor from the meat and sauce.

When it's pulled port or beef we go light on the cheese. Still extra on the onions and mushrooms. You can make a stroganoff type pizza too. Instead of tomato sauce you can use thick cream of mushroom soup or make your own style of heavy white sauce to go along with some real tender beef. I have to get out of the box with pizza. Let 'em think what they like in NY or Chicago or Italy or where ever. As you can see I hate culinary ruts.

My son and I love white pizza with spinach if we have it. Hmmm, now there's an idea for dinner!
OBTW, does anyone know if you can freeze chili rellenos? I have a bunch of fresh anahiem peppers to deal with and love chili rellenos but have never tried to freeze them.

I don't know why not. I would certainly try a couple to see. With all the different dinners I see in the frozen food sections at the market I have to believe you could. I do want a vacuum sealer for such projects to prevent freezer burn.
