I like to heat it slowly in an iron skillet. Normally that's all I've ever done. When cool weather arrives I'll grill them too. One of the beauties of the ham steak is the simplicity of prep. I'm famous for ruining a great steak with steak sauce so I'm told but that's what I like. Maybe I'll experiment with the ham and find a good way to ruin those to. May will get brave and try elston's way soon in better weather.
LOL I like to cook em in a black cast iron pan also.....but our seasons are different...during the summer I do em on the grilll.....cook indoors in the winter!
We've had cooler days all week, and the spouse has got the soup hungries. He's turning the leeks from the CSA box into potato-leek soup with ham for supper, with a loaf of good crusty sourdough for dipping.
Probably too late to start dinner so I'll order a pizza from the italian food place downtown (if they will deliver that is.)
I got both recipes off of the forum. I can't remember which ones I used I wrote them down..lol. The chili is the crock pot chili and the corn bread casserole I found on a Thankgiving post..yes I was bored and searched

I love this time of year....
Light meal tonight. Weather is getting cold and I decided to make lentil soup.
Served with toast.
Who is coming for dinner?

My better half had a bowl of lentil soup and said:
