Home made chicken soup, minestrone style with tomato, pasta, a few beans and veggies. I might make a pistou. Plenty of crusty bread and salad - probably tomato, red onion & basil with lots of olive oil. Maybe a glass of wine!
A left over hamburger steak being that I forgot the ham when I was out. I was to excited about finding fresh okra locally grown I must have had one of my regular senior moments. I found a package of fresh asparagus for our veggie. I found some good looking Carolina peaches for a fresh fruit dessert so I've no complaints with this evenings menu.
What is with the asparagus lately--or is it just here in NC? It's not as big as a pencil around! Little flavor. I want those big spears with the purple tops! I don't get it----is it a bad year or is it just here?? Plus they still want $3.79 a pound!! I'd gladly pay it for "real" asparagus!
Dinner turned out great last night. I took the path of least resistance...most simple..thank you jimj! I did, however, copy and paste the other wonderful recipes to my recipe file for future use! Thanks you all!! The Marsala worked wonderfully. I did put in a few different spices--don't even remember what now but it was a keeper!!
Tonight is pork chops. Think I'll just fry them up on the stove and have potatoes and a veggie of some sort with of course, fresh sliced tomatoes! I think I am starting to look like a tomatoe! Probably some fresh sliced cucumbers too!

The package we have is like those little pencil too. I hope it is edible. The late cuttings are sometimes small and bitter. I would not have bought it but know better than to critique the buyer.... The variety and the age of the roots producing will determine the spear diameter too. I've been researching for info so I can start growing my own again soon I hope. Must move farther north for before I can though. You know you only have to plant it once and it will produce for years from the original planting??
You know, that almost sounds like the start of a Jerry Seinfeld routine?
