I have a "tourists" booklet for Blowing Rock with more info than I want and we will be moving around. I have to see Charlotte and Asheville and maybe cross over to TN, etc.
Just outside of Asheville are some of the best BBQ joints I've ever eaten in! No chains, just small family run places....

Oh wonderful! Hubby bought 15 bell peppers for me to stuff and freeze for this winters meals! Wonderful! Ha! The bell peppers were 5 for a dollar and huge and beautiful! Then of course had to buy the meat to stuff them--pork and beef--cost a bit but should be well worth the effort come January when we are craving some nice stuffed bell peppers. Think while I'm at it I may as well make up a meat loaf or two and freeze--why not?? I feel like the "happy cooker" or something! Anyhow, tonight is cubed beef steaks, braised red potatoes with gravy and fresh green beans. On the side, of course I will have the almighty sliced fresh tomatoes and cucumbers! Tomorrow is going to be another one of those very busy days in the kitchen while hubby watches those *%^#$&* car races on TV!!!

Your pepppers sound wonderful.....I dont have a freezer and my freezer in the refrigerator isnt large enough for more than the current usage and ice. I really dont need a freezer...there are just the two of us....but I bet I could and would fill it pdq! But I am not going to get one!

Enjoy your peppers and the garden tomatoes! (That is the best part of summer...the taste of tomatoes!)

Right now dinner is a mystery. Wife is cleaning out the fridge. My plate may be a work of art or something I'll just have to suffer through. I can suffer easier than to waste food though. At least some part will be to my liking. The good thing is nothing is in there that I don't like it may just not be a favorite combination. I guess it could be called "Friday Night Roundup".

Well tomorrow is shopping day and I can fix that. At least you didn't get into the white chocolate and pretzels I've been saving those for a craving out of control night. Looks like Hanna may trigger on of those craving events on day here soon. We must keep a stash of non perishables on hand and junk food is a must. Sometimes in a pinch junk food for dinner is OK. Glad you enjoyed the S&V's.

For some reason, Nomad's been hiding his stash in my cupboard! Had to eat them before they went bad. Don't you just hate that sort of thing??

Oh, you don't have to worry about the choc. covered pretzels. Not a big fan. Of course, maybe the ones I tried were stale....pass those over here, would you please?
