The the first time in almost 60 years of marriage I am doing Oysters, at least for me, I am not sure spoiled brat will even try one. Our granddaughter's hubby went fishing in La. the other day and brought a bunch home. He and his friends managed to eat a lot of them, but there still some left, so she is bringing them to me. I am pretty excited about trying to fix them. If spoiled brat doesn't want them he can just eat the grass in the back yard or maybe I will let him have a plate of salad. I know one thing, I will not fix him something different. That is a habit we have never gotten into unless someone is sick or something. We eat what is served or we do not eat. I often fix something for him, I would prefer not to eat but do anyway or I just have the salad, whatever. He will do the same thing, only he cries about it. I think this is why he has learned to eat so many veggies he wouldn't taste when we first got married.
Tonight I am fixing falafel with sauce made from lebna, fresh dill, garlic, and cucumber, plus romaine lettuce & sliced onion on flat bread. This dish needs tomato but I can't bear it. The last 4 went in the trash.
I use a mix for the falafel that I buy at one of the local middle eastern markets. It always turns out well. If loving the mix is wrong, I don't want to be right.
It snowed last night and I am still cold this morning. I think my decade of living in California thinned out my blood! When I lived in Chicago, I sneered at the Californians who thought 40 degrees was cold and now that I am living in Washington, I have become a weather pansy.
Tonight we are having navy bean and ham soup, tuna melts on rye and pear pie for dessert.
Chicken with vegetables over rice. Last night we both had pizza.
