Dinner last night was a bit unusual. Our "cute" neighbors cat visited us yesterday and kept us company for a while.Next it roamed the garden when we noticed it was stalking something behind the bushes.Suddenly we heard a squeal, saw a cats tail, more chasing and before we realized what had happened the cat had a baby bunny in its mouth dragging it up a fence and off it went.

Tonight spinach salad with avocado and hard boiled eggs and served with wholewheat baguette. To drink lemon water. For dessert mango slices.

Hard boiled eggs in quarters
baby spinach
avocado quarters sprinkled with lemon juice
white wine vinegar
salt/black pepper/curry powder
olive oil
roasted chopped cashew nuts
sauteed halved cherry tomatoes

Kitty was doing what he is supposed to do I guess, but our cat doesn't know that. If her even gets a creature which he does on rare occasion he lets it go right away or plays with it for awhile. He did kill one mounse once but that was, apparently because he dropped it in his water dish and it drowned.

Dinner tonight: well it is a bridge day for me plus we water walk this morning, so not much time for cooking: I bought some pre marinated ribs a few days ago. I will make cold slow before I leave this morning so it can sit all day. Spoiled bra will smoke the ribs and when I get home home from bridge I will probably bake potatoes for us to go the the rest of dinner. Our weather is perfect for smoking and grilling: high 80s and sunny.

We're having a friend over for drinks on the deck so the appetizers will sub as our dinner. I'll make some egg rolls from some filling that's been in the freezer and more pork quesadillas like we had for last night's dinner. That and the usual cheese, fruit, and crudites should suffice.

Today was another one of those days gainfully employed doing absolutely nothing until the afternoon when Mrs Roscoe Conkling decreed it was margarita time
And who am I to argue with she who must be obeyed ?
So the cocktail shaker was soon working overtime - three of those beauties were horsed down fairly sharpish.
Dinner was baked lamb chops and oven fries with a green salad with a good bottle of Aussie merlot.
Dessert was fresh strawberries and honeycomb ice-cream.
We'll sleep well tonight.
Another great lockdown day.
