Tonight it will be sorta a traditional Memorial day dinner even if there are just the two of us: we are having brats on buns, potato salad and green beans.

Everyone try to take time today to remember those who have given their lives to keep us free!!!

Today I'll be smoking some homemade tasso and andouille sausage.

Last night, Cuban style grilled chicken, sour orange mojo, black beans and rice.

My salmon wasn't thawed last night, so I picked up tacos for dinner. Tonight that salmon gets eaten!

I can't stand cooked salmon, but smoked or homemade gravlax isn't an issue. Never understood why.

Our dinner today will be mid-afternoon. We're picking up Memorial Day bbq plates that we'll bring back and eat on our deck if it warms up enough. Ribs, brisket, baked beans, and slaw. We have leftover homemade pizza for later in the evening if we're hungry.

Yesterday I baked a loaf of bread late in the day, sliced it and we had thick cut French toast with maple syrup and blueberries and thick sliced bacon for supper. Debsi inspired me with her talk of bacon sandwiches. Strawberries and ice cream for dessert.

DH just came back from a walk and announced he was going to grill tonight so it remains to be seen.

Grilled pork loin chops, DH's will be with grilled lemons, mine will be glazed with peach salsa, side of leek/potato gratine, and a curry-ish salad mix.

Tonight on Pumpernickel bread creamed cottage cheese, tomato slices, chive and a Löwenbräu.
