I agree somewhat with the 'meat' in the pot pies being rubbery and not so great, but I am happy to say that the breakfast pie with sausage doesn't seem to suffer too much from that same problem.
This thread made me curious about the banquet pie crusts, the very best part IMO, so last time we were at the store I stopped to check and they all had both a top and bottom crust.
Glad to hear that! The crust is definitely the best part!
I find Michelina's superior to Banquet for mac and cheese and Fettuccine Alfredo dishes. It's in the sauce, I'd say. Banquet is cheap and tastes cheap, and I don't get that with Michelina's IMO, although the chicken in Michelina's is subpar for sure. When I want the best of both worlds, I will go with Stouffer's, as they have great-tasting chicken in their recipes compared to the cheaper brands.

I might be thinking of Morton’s pot pies, not Banquet. One of them lacked a bottom crust.
These days, Blake’s is the best available around here. Best frozen pot pie ever was made by a little company out of NH called Shelton’s. They used butter in the crusts, and the whole wheat version was fantastic. Big hunks of real chicken meat, too.
