I love Ruth Chris but by far the best food I've ever had was Delmonico's in Las Vegas. It's owned by Emeril. The service and steak was top notch. Supposedly there's a very high end restaurant here in Charlotte that I'm interested in looking into for my anniversary on New Years.
The Ivy on Robertson in L.A. has the best soft shell crabs in May!
The Palm in L.A. for the best Maine lobster without leaving the state.
El Chollo in L.A. for Mexican.
Red Bones in Boston for BBQ.
Dan Tana's in L.A. for Italian and atmosphere.
Bonefish Grill in Chantilly,Va. for fish, etc.
Marmalade Cafe in Sherman Oaks,Ca. for bread pudding and breakfast.
I wonder how many of the places listed in this ancient thread are still open today. I know McGuire's in P'cola is still hanging in there. I ate there this year while passing through that area.
That's a little tough, but I guess one place that comes to mind is Crystal Jade, a Chinese restaurant in San Franciso. The interior, the view, & the food presentation were as fabulous as the food. Unfortunately, for some unknown reason, they closed up pre-COVID. I have no idea why.
The only thing I can think of is that the restaurant was kind of hidden away in the Embarcadero building & from the outside, you may not even know it was there because it just looked like some office building from the outside.

The Inn at Little Washington is alive, well, and still fabulous. It's been while since I've eaten there, but it was definitely one of the best fine dining meals that I've ever eaten and an absolutely top-notch experience.
