All this taco talk is driving me crazy. Unfortunately, I have some sweet italian sausage in the refrigerator that it is time to cook. I'm going to make a warm cole slaw to serve with. Plums and blackberries for desssert.
Steak tacos are a done deal. Steak is done and I'm primed for a couple soft one packed full of all the goodies. Cream pie for dessert.
Hamburger steaks baked in the oven. My neighbor in another city used to fix these. You place the patties in a baking dish and season with pepper and either W sauce or Dale's steak sauce. Then you place a large onion slice on top each patty. I'm using my Vidalias I bought yesterday. Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil and bake at 350 until done. The slower cooking is delicious and the onion flavor bakes into the patties.
I'm also fixing rice with a little celery, carrot and onion added. I guess you could almost call this a pilau of sorts. Wish I had some beef broth but I am not making another trip to the store! Very plain tossed salad with ranch dressing and some stuffed celery on the side. Chocolate pudding is dessert.
This is turning out to be a good mid week dinner. Hope everyone has yummy ones tonight!

That sounds really good...I'm going to try that sometime. The rice sounds yummy too. You could dilute some bouillon cubes/granules in water instead of broth.
I used to make a pork chop dish that was cooked with a thick slice of onion on top of each chop and rice w/broth underneath the chops. Hmmm...haven't made that in a while.
