I don't know where some people get that idea?? A small arm of Fort Worth borders the Airport on the southwest, but that is it. The huge airport is mostly surrounded by suburban cities like Euless, Grapevine and Irving. Also, surrounding the airport is not the same as it being in the cities itself. The cities of Dallas and Fort Worth both own the airport, the airport takes the address of DFW Airport, and it lies in both Dallas and Tarrant counties.

For the average joe flying into DFW for a stopover... no one cares what town it's in. It's called the Dallas/ Fort Worth airport ... good enough for me. In the scheme of things it's not going to change anyone's life is it?

Ft Worth City limits go up to the south service area of the airport and includes part of the service area.
DFW Airport is about 65-70% in Tarrant County Maybe 30% in Dallas County and a small tab of maybe 2% in Denton County.
