Two days before I leave!
Got all my packages to UPS and they're shipping them this afternoon
A total of SIX boxes will be shipped!
- two 22x22x22 boxes of clothes, gear, stuff animals, glass, books and family memories in them.
- one long box with a large whale, two pillows, stuff animals and yoga mat.
- three boxes packaged by UPS of desktop computer, two monitors and computer peripherals.
This thread has kept my sanity! Thank you!
Good luck to everyone moving!
Finally found our trailer. Seems that there was a 'communication' problem between UPack and Old Dominion. Didn't show that we had paid the shipping charge even though my credit card got hit a week ago. So delivery of the trailer will be Thursday- 2 WEEKS after pickup.
Ugh Restrain - at least they found it but I know the delay is sooooo frustrating!!!
Today I'm working on the claim for our damaged items. I'm also claiming a loss for the delay in arriving. I figure $1k for 4 days is reasonable - we waited all day Wed, Fri and Sat for them to show and they didn't.
Wow, Restrain, good thing your valuables and meds aren't in that thing! (joke)
Good luck with the claim, Kab0, I deal with freight and shipping companies all the time but I know for licensed househld movers the rules are different. No advice here.
My inherited cat let me pet him. Almost three months he's been here now. He also kicked Ollie's (other kitten, about same age, born here) azz when they met today. LMAO.
Whew.... I think our move is basically done. What I mean by that is in the very middle of it a family emergency came up that kept me in the area while DH did the final moving stuff in the cars to our home 85 miles away. The closing on our house got done but only after DH had to re clean a closet (buyers found mouse droppings he missed) and clean out a wood stove we had missed. He had to convince them there was nothing else to be done on what they thought was a loose toilet because it was only the tank and was tightened as much as possible without cracking. So glad to be done with first time home buyers to the point I really don't care when they discover the ants invading the kitchen!
