Quick question because I'm curious. How many [insert random city] vs [insert random city] or [insert random state] vs [insert random state] do you post a day?
I agree with you. We used to go to Miami Beach nearly every year and I always thought about how much I'd love to live there. Then 2 years ago we went to Santa Monica for vacation and I fell in love! California is a gorgeous state. The beaches against the backdrop of the mountains is beautiful. Being able to go to the Central Coast of Napa Valley for a long weekend. The job market is great and the weather is better. I found the beaches in California to be really, really nice. The public fire pits are neat. Granted the water is cooler, but that's okay.
Well, most people in California don't live in the mountains or at the beach. Plus, affordability and lack of earthquakes is a much better reason to live somewhere too.

If i were to take a guess, I would say at least 70% of california residents live in LA, SD, SF, SJ, and Santa Barbara. All of those cities are on the coast.
South FL isn't so affordable either.
So you don't want earthquakes that only come as big ones maybe once or twice a century, but you'd rather have deadly hurricanes that come once or twice a year and force you to rebuild your home every year?
I choose Florida anyday over California. Why? More space, less people, better beaches, and a much cheaper place to live. Plus, Miami beats out any California city.
How about the skiing at Lake Tahoe? Yosemite? The Redwood forest? San Francisco? Big Sur? Personally I'd rank the LA beaches as some of the least impressive parts of California as well. But if you combine those mediocre beaches, with the far more impressive ones, couples with the alpine mountains, lakes, rivers, forests, etc. AND one of the most comsopolitan and European cities in America (SF), I don't know how anyone could rank Florida above California.
California for almost everything except winters. I can't stand anything below 55*, even 60* sometimes. LOL. Florida has the best winters, but nothing else.
