That is the essence of a lot of conversation starters I have experienced with Californians (etc.). I used to actually fall for it. Now I just reply, "Nothing. There is nothing good about anything, anywhere outside California (etc.)."

There are New Yorkers (city) and Texans with the same anti-social personality disorder, too.
Yes, there are. See below: Nowhere in the west, mind you, he (?) says, then mocks me for bringing up Denver and Omaha. Where is the west? The west coast? That plus the mountain states? That plus everything west of the 100th meridian, the dividing line (sort of) between the humid east and the drier west? All that plus everything west of the Missouri River? The Missisippi?

Eh. Most of those NYC boosters on the general US doesn't seem to be from NYC, or at least don't post on the NYC forum. Standard111 doesn't give a location, only local forums he's posted in are Chicago and New Orleans. Not saying NYC doesn't have stupid boosters, though.

I use that line for the start of the west, roughly the wet-dry divide. I thought Omaha was midwest, but you'd know better than me.

My husband's definition of Omaha, his hometown? "Mid-Plains".
