What i do like is their fries and coffee.
When exactly did they change?
I am not exactly sure but I think it was sometime in the eighties. The fries used to be crispy and had a little bit of the the peelings on them and not as much salt. They at first advertised for having the best fries with some sort of special oil. I think the reason I went off them is because they changed something about them maybe the oil, maybe the kind of potato they used but the change made a difference to me so I didn't like them as much. It's probably a matter of preference.
I don't drink coffee but I have heard people praise it. I am an ice tea drinker and I like their ice tea.
It isn't as cheap as McDonald's and I don't do it very often but it's really good tasting food and I am lucky to have one nearby. This is my treat for a place to eat out on my budget. Also, I know where the food comes from.
Hey, OP - when you use the word "Americans" and you're not using it in the possessive form -just in plural form - you don't put an apostrophe in the word.
I mean, just so you know - since you're on some sort of "American" tear on the forums. Just trying to help you out.
The question I really want to know....is "Why don't Canadians care about their grammar?" I think I might, you know, out of concern for our northern neighbors, amble on over to the Canadian forum to get to the bottom of this question that has been nagging me for years.
And regardless of whether it's second or third - fast foods, burgers and fries, and McDonalds in particular, are massively popular in Canada. Why is that?
I've had McDonalds once in probably the past year or two and it was only because The 76ers scored more than 100 points at a game I was at (which apparently means free Big Macs the next day at McDonalds).
Yes, I did enjoy it and yes I did feel terrible minutes afterward. Growing up it was a "special treat" but I think my Mom always knew it was pretty crappy food-we only ordered off the Dollar Menu and often shared a cup (or sometimes brought one in) for drinks.

Why do Americans say Ya'll? instead of you all, "sarry" instead of sorry? and "ruff" instead of roof? - speech impediment?
Why can't an American differentiate the word "pin" and "pen" either? sorry that's pathetic. And you criticize Rachel Jeantel for speaking like an idiot?

"Y'all" is no different from "don't." It's a contraction of two words - "you all." It means "all of you." What's weird about that?
As for your other weird misconceptions...all I can tell you is that there are so many accents across the US that none of your generalities applies to all, or even MOST, Americans.
And who was critisizing Rachel Jeantel (whoever the heck that is)? I must have missed that.
You really seem to have some sort of hangup about accents - you've got several threads running on the same topic in different sections of the forum. Are you insecure about something?
If you're indicative of the general Canadian mindset (which I doubt), all I can say is y'all need to loosen up, up there. All y'all.

The same reason Canadians say "abbot" and "eh?" and think the last letter of the alphabet is "zed." Get real Maxie!
