I think the South and the Midwest are equally racist.
Not far off, different, but not far off. Living in the South for a long time and hearing things from other people has left a jaded view on me. Personally, this entire nation has racism of any kind.

Interestingly, those are the two regions with the highest percentage of Black folks and in that order.
Going to college in Michigan for a few years opened my eyes up to this as there was a Klan rally at the state capital the same week I arrived and I found out that the school I was going to was one of the most segregated campuses in the country at the time, according to a professor there. I wouldn't doubt it either.

I wouldn't be surprised. Malcolm X's father was murdered in Lansing,MI by the Black Legion(ironic name), a group within the KKK. Klan activity was big in the Midwest during the 1920's. Indiana was basically the Klan stronghold of the Midwest.
When you talk about the Midwest, the most racist part is the eastern lower Midwest, i.e., states like Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and even southern Michigan (although MI is NOT THAT BAD). There is very little racism in states like Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas.
Also, the Midwest is not nearly as racist as the South. I don't consider Southern Indiana to be the Midwest, it has many more affinities with the South.

Going by your past posts, I hardly think you even know what the overall real South is. It certainly can't be compared to Gwinnett County.

No matter what you consider what place could be. Southern Indiana is still the Midwest. Whether you like it or care about it or not.
