An interesting Welfare fraud case: Social worker in Kansas created fake Clients and intercepts food stamps and welfare checks to the tune of $70,000 . It took three years to catch them. How many cheats are there on the other side of the fence? They get only probation for the "crime" A person on welfare cheats the state out of $70,000 will prolly do time.

I know in Texas some prosecutors have made probation deals in welfare fraud cases where the person is required to pay the money back as a condition of probation, with a promise of a long prison sentence for failure to comply.

A social worker was ripping off the system? Wow, I wonder if the penalty is different in a case like that. It never crossed my mind that anyone would go into social work to get rich.

And they say American ingenuity is dead.

I say we just break everyone up,

All Liberals over here==================================All Conservatives over here

The liberals can take care of the people they do dearly love with their money, while us conservatives can keep all of our money.

And why sterilize women and not men? Who decides what "effort" is reasonable in trying to provide for their children?

If the country got broken up by political preference, the liberals would be bankrupt rather quickly. The dirty little secret about liberalism/communism/socialism is that it is dependant upon capitalism to generate tax revenue. Kind of ironic isn't it?

Yes, but the conservatives could not come into the liberal zones, where all the hookers are, because they would have to ride busses. No Lexuses allowed.

All of you seem to have missed my point that people that own enough productive capital that they do not have to work or actually work for their living are just as much on welfare as somebody without any capital or resources receiving money from the government. In the first case their support comes from pricing the products high enough to create the profit they are consuming. In the second case their support comes from taxes (mostly regressive taxes) levied on their peers.

The biggest difference is in the first case the money is rightfully collected and the person is a valued member of society even if they are disgustingly useless wanton libertines. In the second case the state supported person is a drag on society and the economy and is considered a parasite. The irony is that it takes a lot more of the society’s surplus to keep the rich guy in Brandy than it does to keep the poor mother in diapers for the kids. This is the result of the way we misallocate scarce resources. The people that don't need it get the most and the people that would starve without it get the least.

In my utopia nobody gets ride for free. The rich work their forty hours a week doing whatever they were educated to do, like speculate in the market, and live off their salary. The poor do the work that need to be done, like sweep streets or track welfare payments, even if there is no monetary profit to be made. No work, no ride.
