The Five Forks Bi Lo won’t be one of them if it happens. I still contend HT will pick up the Lowes stores. 2 sweet markets. Eastside/ Greer and Five Forks. That’ll cap them out in this market For now.

The Target rumor has been around for 14 years.

My understanding is Target had already selected a site in Easley when the economy went south in 2010 and they drastically reduced their new store construction efforts.

Harris Teeter stagnated in Greenville County after opening three stores. If it is smart, it will not stagnate again and will increase its store count through new store construction and acquiring stores from existing competitors.

Yep they had two sites picked out, the first was where Walmart in Powdersville ended up and the second from my understanding was where newspring ended up building. They also from my understanding had originally planned on building where the Walmart on Pelham went and they got out bid by Walmart.

This seems absolutely ridiculous to me, but I keep hearing it from different people and the land where Swedish Automotive is could definitely fit one. Between all the adjoining land that the Thackston's own, it's nearly 37 acres right there.
The expansion of Publix at Five Forks has started. They are demoing the the old retail spots to the left of the store to make room.

I wonder how the Lowes store is doing? We used them a lot at first, but the freshness of their produce declined. The store just seems dead to me now.

And now another discount Car Wash across the street? These things sucked in the 70's and still do a half-a** job.

I assume that the Chick Fil A plans are no more?

Bring on Harris Teeter to that Lowes @ Five Forks and Greer locations. They could even have an HT fuel location at Five Forks. That would be good pickups for them. They would probably want to find a way to add pharmacy to those locations though.

I saw that. Thought it was interesting that they knocked it down rather than utilizing the existing structure.

In other news, I heard Tipsy Taco was no longer coming to Five Forks since they're putting the one in the old Havana Kitchen location. Hopefully something equally fun will come in its place.

Word on the street is that the Tipsy Taco for Five Forks is dead with the recent announcement of the Havana takeover.
