Anybody know whats going in the old Taco Loko location in Old Simpsonville? The same person that bought that building also bought the old bojangles on Woodruff Rd.

Also a barbaritos at the Northpointe shopping center where the newer ***** is. Odd placement since there's on about 2 minutes away by the Fresh Market.

That NorthPointe location was supposed to open last fall. I also thought it was a little close to the Fresh Market/Forest Park shopping center location on Pleasantburg. Wonder if they just decided to change course to the Hwy 55 location in the Publix shopping center in Taylors. Makes more sense.

Default New retail/restaurant thread, Part 2, 1/1/2023 through xxxxx.

They've got. Now hiring at the Northpointe location. I guess maybe they're closing the Fresh Market one, but I haven't heard anything about that.

Sounds like someone who buys 'distressed' properties. I haven't been by there lately.. Is work happening at the building? Just because it's been bought, doesn't necessarily mean something is happening with it.

That building hasn't had great luck. JitB followed by Taco Loko.. Neither of which lasted more than 2 years? And it's been vacant for about 5 or 6 years now? Is my timeframe anywhere close to accurate here?

FWIW.. Popeye's in Mauldin looks to be very close. I'd say they could be open by this weekend, but suspect maybe next Monday.

Cook Out seems to be about a week behind.

I just drove by Popeye's in Mauldin and it looks like it is open but...still not reflected on the website so maybe not.

I think Cook Out is further behind than a week. Maybe a month or more but they are making progress.

Cook Out has more going on inside than you see outside. It may be a little longer than a week, but they're further ahead than you think.

I thought Popeye's was open when I drove by this AM, but.. They just have people parking there. I believe they're probably training now. Wouldn't surprise me to see a soft open come later this week with a weekend opening.. Not sure how much training there needs to be for a place like that.
