It should be noted that Zaxby's has been inspired by Popeyes to upgrade their chicken sandwich, as has been the case with most chains in the last year. The Zaxby's version should be a good product, although it looks similar to Popeyes. The chicken sandwich and chicken tenders are the hot items in the quick serve category, with Popeyes strategic marketing and development leading the way. I am a bit surprised Bojangles has not upgraded their offering yet, as Burger King, McDonald's, KFC, and Lee's have launched new and improved chicken sandwiches in the last year. The Jack in the Box version is a poor imitation.
The drive-thru at Zaxbys in Gaffney was wrapped around the building yesterday. For some reason the inside was closed, even though it has been open for the last 6 months during the worst Covid times. If they have recently closed the inside then I am baffled as to why.
Someone posted on here a while back in one of these threads Tropical Grille purchased the Fairview Rd location before they even closed and Coastermaster posted in this thread (post#5548) that the old JIB/Taco Loco on Main had been sold too recently along with the old Bojangles on Woodruff Rd to same buyer.

It was the same at the Butler Rd one in Mauldin last week.
When I'm at my Dad's house in Greenwood the Zax drive thru line is all the way to the street just about every night and it has one of the deepest parking lots I have seen at one. Sounds normal for them. Maybe it's just the popularity of the new Signature Chicken Sandwich with Spicy Zax sauce too.
Last fall I was at the Zax in TR for lunch one day and they had a guy outside under an umbrella (like CFA) taking orders on a tablet to speed the line up. First time I had seen that at Zaxby's.

That Butler location is awful, I have sat in line for over an hour before. I remember one night I sat in line for 45 mins and just when I got to the order box the guy says "sorry we are closed", Nothing will anger you more than that. But it is regularly backed out onto Butler. I dont understand why their service is so slow. They could use a good lesson from CFA.
I don’t even understand why people go to Zaxby’s when you have Chick-Fil-A. Sunday is the only day that is an exception.
