Hopefully different franchisee will do better this time around.
The food is really good. It's a tad pricey, but good. I think their biggest issue, as I've mentioned before.. They're trying to be too much.
Bone in fried chicken, baked chicken and chicken fingers.. They're trying to compete with Zaxby's and KFC and the like.. I think they'd do better focusing in one place. Either be a bone in chicken place or a chicken finger place.
FWIW.. Apparently the Pelham Rd Golden Chick has been reopened since August 4th. Greenwood I noticed has reopened as well, that one shows August 24th.
And, the cookout on Butler Rd in Mauldin appears to be moving VERY quickly. Looks to me that demo is either done or almost completed. Not sure if they're taking it completely down or not.. but it's down to a gutted 4 walls and short of the old Sonic sign out front.. It'd be difficult to know that it ever was a Sonic.
Skechers for old Pier One Imports space at Magnolia Park.
Nice. Good to see a national retailer adding a store for a change.

I have passed the Greenwood Golden Chick several times since it opened. It has been very busy each time (especially the drive thru line). They have lots of competition on that stretch of SC72 through Greenwood - (2 Bojangle's, 2 Chick-fil-a's, KFC and a Popeye's) among others.

They have a good product but just need to develop name recognition and brand loyalty to compete successfully with these better known established competitors.
